President's Address

Hello, my name is Patrick D'Orsogna and I am the current president of Phi Kappa Psi. I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit our website and I hope you continue reading to find out what the PA Lambda Chapter of Phi Kappa Psi has been up to lately, including philanthropic/community service efforts, awards that were received, increasing academic standards and more! Philanthropy/Community Service: I am very proud and honored to be the president of such a prestigious and honorable fraternity at such a pivotal time for our chapter. We have been exponentially increasing our involvement in the community, completing over 1,000 hours of community service this past semester, which is 400 more than the next fraternity. In addition to our active role in the community, we have also raised over $2,200 by philanthropic efforts. THON: Going above and beyond from philanthropy and community service, we have been increasing our footprint with THON, which is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world that raises money to help find a cure for children with pediatric cancer. We have had our most successful year in 2015, with our total coming in at $163,512.08. We are excited to be paired with a sorority, Sigma Kappa, where with our synergies believe we will go above and beyond and exceed last year’s total in THON 2016. If you would like to be a part of our fundraising, click the link at the bottom of this screen to donate to THON! Scholarship: As always, grades are the number one reason why we come to college, and as an ex-scholarship chair I am happy to report that our chapter's cumulative GPA has increased for the past four semesters to a 3.16. We have all come together to commit more time and effort into our academics. We have developed brotherhood study hours for brothers to either study or help out younger brothers struggling with time management and schoolwork. Awards and Recognition: My number one goal at all times as president is to ensure that our house is a Chapter of Excellence. I am very proud to announce that our chapter received the Chapter of Excellence award in 2014 and have continued to work hard after winning Chapter of the Year in 2013 and 2014. The President’s Cup for Organizational Excellence is a very prestigious award that only one Greek Organization in the school gets awarded yearly. Winning this award in 2014 definitely keeps us on our toes to uphold or even raise the bars that were previously set. Results for the year of 2015 are still pending. Our Chapter House: The house will not be at the maximum living capacity, which is 35, with 31 brothers committed to living in the chapter house this upcoming spring semester due to the several major structural issues of our home. We have one of the oldest houses on campus, with the current chapter facility originally being built almost a century ago in 1923. We are working hard to find donors to support our housing campaign goal, whose plans call for a complete renovation of the facility, including new electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems just to maintain the house’s structure. We are currently halfway to achieving our goal of $2 million, so we invite you to donate to our campaign as our home has been degrading faster than our brotherhood has grown. If you are interested or know someone interested in making a kind donation of any size or if you would like to learn more, feel free to contact me or visit the website at We plan to continue all of these trends going forward along with increasing our relationship and openness with the alumni. As always, we love it when an alumnus comes by the house, and you are always more than welcome to come by. Our home is your home, so please stop by and say hello! We will constantly be in touch about alumni events being hosted by Phi Kappa Psi at Penn State University through the newsletters we send out monthly. If you ever want to say hello or set up a time to come by and get some dinner, please do not hesitate to reach out via e-mail or mobile at or (570)-982-1071.

Live ever, Die never!
Brother Patrick D'Orsogna
